You're in. Let's get you running..here's how to get started.
Work through these when you've got a minute. You don't have to do them all in one sitting — knock one out between lunch and dinner service, do another tomorrow morning. Most of these take 5 minutes or less. The Google one might take longer if you have to dig up a password.
Best order is top to bottom. The first three are the ones that actually make the magic happen.
☐ 1. Connect your Google Business Profile
Why this matters: This is the big one. Without it, we can't pull in your reviews, post replies for you, or show you how you're doing. Everything else builds on this.
What you'll need:
The email address you used to set up your Google Business Profile
The password for that email
Heads up — the password trap:
This is where most owners hit a wall. The email and password you used to set up your Google profile might be different from the one you use every day. Maybe a former employee set it up. Maybe it was your old gmail from 2014. Maybe your nephew did it for you in college.
If you can't remember the password, here's what to do:
Go to gmail.com
Click "Forgot password"
Reset it using whatever recovery method Google offers (text to your phone, backup email, etc.)
If you can't recover it on your own, [click here] and we'll walk through it with you on the phone. We've seen every weird login situation. We can usually figure it out together in 15 minutes.
☐ 2. Connect your social media (Facebook + Instagram)
Why this matters: Your best reviews automatically turn into branded Instagram and Facebook posts. Free social content, every week, on autopilot. But we need your accounts connected first.
The shortcut nobody tells you:
You only have to log into Facebook. Connecting Facebook will connect your Instagram at the same time — if your Instagram is already linked to your Facebook business page.
If it's not linked yet, no big deal. [Here's a 90-second guide to linking them.] Do that first, then come back here.
A couple of things to check before you click connect:
✅ You need a Facebook business page — not your personal profile. If you've been posting your specials from your own personal account, that's a problem we should fix. [Here's how to set up a business page.]
✅ You need to be an admin of the page. If your former social media person set it up and they still own it, we'll help you take it back. Just reach out.
☐ 3. Fill out your business profile info
Why this matters: This is the information we use to write review responses in your voice. The more we know about you, the better our AI sounds like the actual you — not a robot.
Takes about 5 minutes. We'll ask things like:
Your restaurant's story (a sentence or two — not a novel)
Your tone (laid-back? formal? sarcastic? specific?)
Things you say a lot ("thanks for stopping by," "see you soon," "much love")
Stuff you'd never say (corporate words, anything fake)
The system gets sharper with every detail. Spend the 5 minutes here. It pays off every time a review comes in.
That's it.
Once those checkboxes are ticked, you're set. The system starts working immediately. New reviews come in, we respond, the good ones post to your social, and you go back to running your restaurant.
